Problems with Stress, Anxiety, Learning Blocks, and outright Fears.
The Solution

The statistics are dismal: fear on the job, long a taboo, is now newsworthy – it´s on the rise. It is hardly better in the schools. Society is on the run and we´re all trying to keep up. Uncertainty, tension, chronic stress, anxiety, fears and phobias are the result.

                                       

LIB was originally conceived as a learning centre for youth and adults with learning difficulties. However, our experience over the years with our many clients showed us again and again that if a person is repeatedly confronted with failure from an early age, that person will learn coping mechanisms to survive school. At first these are helpful. But these become habits of mind and body: chronic high tension and stress and anxiety are the results. So we understood that we needed to have an effective coaching program to address these problems. Nowadays, clients come to us for a variety of stress-related reasons, ranging from public-speaking phobias to cold-call terror, and from stress (and time) (and energy) management to performance anxiety.

 OUR METHODS

Performance Coaching

No matter what the problem is, our experience has taught us one thing: you can learn to live a life free of fears. And you can do this easefully and … even have some fun doing it!

We begin by looking at the current crisis and assessing the toll it´s taken on you body, mind and heart. Then we reflect on the possible links to past events which could have planted the seeds for the current crisis. But, don´t worry. We don´t dwell in the past, we simply reflect upon its connection to the problem now. Once we have discovered these key events, we systematically de-trigger them, or neutralize their stress and fear-provoking impact upon you. (This is really rather an easy and fun process.) Once the triggers are removed, then we practice and test new, alternative, more optimal behaviors and strategies. And finally we build workable plans for implementing these in your life.

Biofeedback
All our Performance Coaching programs for stress management and anxiety involve biofeedback training, as well. This, too, is a coaching process, involving you the client the biofeedback coach and the computer. Using the latest computer technologies, our clients actually can see what fear and worry are doing to their bodies. Thanks to the computer hook-up the learning is fast: what you think is what you see is what you get.

Our clients then learn how to replace stressful thinking with healthier responses. Over time these responses become the norm, and mental, physical and emotional health is restored.

We use various forms of biofeedback: classical peripheral biofeedback, neurofeedback (brain wave training) and hemoencephalography feedback (brain blood flow training).
